Waalre is one of the most beautiful and wooded villages on the south side of Eindhoven. Although the number of inhabitants is growing steadily, Waalre, with less than 20,000 inhabitants, still has that wonderful, safe character and village feeling. And that while the city with all its facilities is less than ten minutes away.
The Bosweg crosses the Willibrorduslaan. Which means you can turn left or right. Number eleven is located on the south side of this village main artery that leads to the Blokvenlaan. Against the dunes, directly adjacent to the woods. A small street with only 3 houses and low traffic because of its seemingly dead-end character. The tranquillity that comes from this, ensures that 'number eleven' is instinctively in the middle of the woods. A street where you only drive in if that's your destination.
The beautiful and exclusive villa that you will find at number 11, dates from 1951, but over the years through various renovations and renovations has never reached an old age. As a 'grande dame' the villa stands at a distance from the street - on a very beautiful and large plot of just under 5,000 square metres. Due to the location of the villa on the plot and the spacious wooded garden, there is plenty of privacy and the house offers plenty of space to relax. And relax. The villa, designed by the famous architect Jan Rebel, was designed and built under the influence of the "Gooische" country house architecture, which has been well preserved in recent decades. Even during the last major renovation in 2008, the authentic elements that are so important and characteristic of the villa were restored and preserved.
As soon as the large entrance gate opens and you enter the terrain, you will experience the peace and quiet. Where the gravel crackles under your feet is the noise of the leaves of the huge beech trees in front of the house, which let you experience that you are coming home. The house is surrounded by greenery and breathes cosiness. This is partly due to the fine architectural lines of the beautiful slate roof, but also the stone platform that leads in two steps to the front door and the terrace on the front and side of the house. Before you reach the front door, however, you must first pass the windows of the kitchen and utility room. The warmth emanating from these spaces betrays the atmosphere and character of the house. Something you'll experience for yourself once you're inside.
The heart of the house is also the center of the house. The kitchen connects all rooms, as well as the front and backyard with each other. A wonderful space with in the middle a gigantic cooking island where everyone's heart will beat faster. Even if you don't dare call yourself a kitchen prince or a princess. The handmade and fully oak kitchen is equipped with all comforts, but also offers comfort. All around you will find a stove, two generous Miele induction plates, a gas wok, grill and various oven combinations - including a Boretti sled oven, but also a steam oven and microwave / combi oven. The kitchen is more than attractive and has a wonderful light from all sides of the house. The bold combination of materials including the granite worktop and walnut colored natural stone floor, make the kitchen a real living kitchen where you like to stay. The gas fireplace and spacious dining table make the space really complete. Especially in the evening when the light from the moon and the stars enters through the heavenly skylights (with shutter and rain sensor closure). From the kitchen you also have access to the veranda.
The utility room next to the kitchen is more than just a utility room. The authentic display case in this room takes your breath away every time you want to take something from the stock, fridge or freezer. A space that perfectly matches the nostalgia of this beautiful spacious villa.
From the kitchen you can walk straight to the slightly lower located television room. A room with a view of the front of the house or the world you let in as soon as you turn on the television. Behind this room you will find an atelier with lots of light and a more than cozy bar / billiard room. From this side of the house you can use the fully covered carport to reach the garage which is located on the left side of the house. This large and spacious garage offers so much space that it is a house in its own right and could easily be used as a studio or office. But, of course, that's only interesting if it's necessary. Nowadays this space is mainly used for storage of garden tools and other items.
The carport between the garage and the house is literally a connecting element that makes an important contribution to the appearance of the whole. Without any problems there is room for at least two large cars, but given the entrance there is no shortage of parking spaces anyway.
From the kitchen are also the separate laundry room, (wine) cellar and adjoining technical room within easy reach. The corridor that leads to all these rooms is also so spacious that you will also find a cloakroom here and of course - because you might still be missing it on this side of the house - a toilet.
Also from the bar / billiard room you have access to the rear terrace. A more than generous terrace, which is partly covered and where you can sit by the lovely outdoor fireplace on cooler days. The enclosed and sheltered location of this terrace allows you to enjoy the garden throughout the year, overlooking the conservatory where the indoor pool and sauna are located. A space that appeals to the imagination because of its high ceiling and beam structure. Especially when it is illuminated by the glow of light in the pool. The garden offers plenty of privacy and is fully fenced. Access to the plot is in principle only possible via the gate at the front of the house which can be remotely controlled electrically.
All right, we're going from left to right. Which means this time we're exploring the other side of the house. One side with two beautiful rooms, including the living room and the study. But you will also find on this side of the house the master bedroom with luxury bathroom. Details are plentiful in these rooms. Starting with the great fireplace in the living room and one in the study, but also the beautiful opening stained glass garden doors and windows are breathtakingly beautiful. The guest toilet, the cloakroom and the beautiful oak staircase are situated in the atmospheric hall that connects all these rooms. Just like in the kitchen - you're standing here on a beautiful walnut-colouring natural stone floor in which bluestone windows are processed. Via the stairs we reach the first floor and the mezzanine that runs above the kitchen.
